“Life Between the Waves” captures a quiet moment from the everyday life of a woman working along the coast of Negombo.
As she prepares the day’s catch, the surrounding crows, the open sea, and the simplicity of the shoreline become part of her story. Together, these elements reveal more than just a daily routine—they reflect a life shaped by the sea.
This photograph is not only about hardship. It is a visual story of effort, dignity, hope, and the strength to face another day. Like the waves that continuously return to the shore, she too returns each day to meet life with resilience.
මුහුදු සුළඟ හමා යන අතර ඇය දවසේ අස්වැන්න තම දෑතින් සකස් කරයි. ඇගේ අත්වලින් ගලා යන්නේ මාළු පමණක් නොවේ—පවුලක තවත් දවසක් ඉදිරියට ගෙන යන බලාපොරොත්තුවයි.
වටා පියාසර කරන කපුටෝ තමන්ගේ කොටස ලැබෙන තුරු බලා සිටිති. පසුබිමේ ඇති මුහුද කිසිවක් නොකියා ඇගේ ජීවිතයට තාලයක් සපයයි.
මෙය දුෂ්කරතාව ගැන පමණක් කියන ඡායාරූපයක් නොවේ. වෙහෙස, ගෞරවය සහ නොනවතින ජීවිත ශක්තිය පිළිබඳ නිහඬ සාක්ෂියකි. රළ නැවත නැවතත් වෙරළට පැමිණෙනවා සේම, ඇයත් සෑම දිනකම ජීවිතය හමුවීමට නැවත පැමිණෙයි.
